Successfuly defended my MTech Thesis
I am delighted to announce the successful completion of my M.Tech thesis titled “Wireless Sensing Aided Foveation for Surveillance Videos” under the guidance of Dr. Ayon Chakraborty, as part of the Sensing and Network Systems Engineering (SENSE) Group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Madras. My research focused on leveraging wireless sensing modalities, such as WiFi and UWB radios, to enable energy-efficient Region of Interest (RoI) estimation in surveillance systems. This work addresses the challenges of computationally intensive deep learning methods by proposing a low-cost alternative that reduces reliance on camera hardware, paving the way for battery-operated surveillance solutions.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my guide, Dr. Ayon Chakraborty, for his invaluable mentorship, support, and encouragement throughout this journey. His expertise and insights were instrumental in shaping this research, and his guidance has been a constant source of inspiration. I am also thankful to the SENSE Group for providing a collaborative and enriching research environment that made this accomplishment possible.
